Our Story
Planning for Home Renovations in Exmouth
J&J Contractors was founded by best mates Jay and Joshua, and with more than 25 years of combined experience, we're proud to serve homeowners across Exmouth. Sitting at the mouth of the River Exe, Exmouth is home to two miles of golden sandy beach, the start of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site at Orcombe Point, a busy marina and the unusual sixteen-sided A La Ronde house. The town has a wide mix of properties, from Georgian and Regency homes on The Beacon overlooking the estuary to Victorian terraces near the town centre, bungalows and family homes in Littleham, Withycombe Raleigh and Brixington, and newer developments on the edges of town. Exmouth's position on the coast and estuary means homes face salt air, strong winds and heavy rain, which can be hard on fencing, render, paintwork and outdoor surfaces. Older properties can also suffer from damp and cold solid walls. That's why Exmouth homeowners need landscaping and interior specialists who understand how to build and finish homes to cope with the coastal climate. Whether you live near the seafront, on The Beacon or in one of Exmouth's residential neighbourhoods, we're proud to help you look after your home and make the most of your outdoor space.
Services We Provide in Exmouth
Everything Your Property Needs: Plastering, Decorating & Landscaping
In Exmouth, we offer a full range of outdoor and indoor services, all carried out by our own experienced team. Our fencing services include featheredge fencing built to withstand coastal winds, custom fencing and privacy screens, metal fencing and railings with powder-coated finishes that resist salt air, and home security fencing. We design and lay natural stone and porcelain patios, with porcelain a popular choice for coastal gardens thanks to its resistance to salt, algae and staining. Our landscaping services include garden levelling, new turf, decorative stone and sleeper beds, ideal for creating low-maintenance gardens for busy families and retirees alike. We also install resin bound, block paving, gravel and concrete driveways, all designed with proper drainage to cope with Devon's heavy rain. Inside, we provide plastering and skimming, painting and decorating, damp proofing, internal wall insulation and room-in-roof insulation, helping Exmouth's period homes and chalet bungalows stay warm, dry and smart. Outside, our external rendering and exterior painting services protect walls from wind-driven rain and sea spray. With one team managing every trade, you can combine projects, such as a new driveway, fence and patio, with one point of contact from start to finish.
