Our Story
Planning for Home Renovations in Paignton
J&J Contractors was founded by best mates Jay and Joshua, and with more than 25 years of combined experience, we're proud to serve homeowners across Paignton. Sitting at the heart of the English Riviera, Paignton is known for its sandy beaches at Paignton Sands, Preston Sands and Goodrington, its Victorian pier, the elegant Oldway Mansion and the much-loved Paignton Zoo. It's also where the steam railway sets off along the coast towards Kingswear. Paignton's homes are wonderfully varied, from Victorian and Edwardian properties near the seafront and Old Town to family homes in Preston, Roselands and Collaton St Mary, and newer developments on the edges of town. Being on the coast, Paignton homes face salt air, wind and heavy rain, which can wear out fencing, render and paintwork, while older properties may suffer from damp and cold walls. Many gardens are also sloping, especially on the hillsides above the bay. That's why Paignton homeowners need landscaping and interior specialists who understand how to protect properties from the coastal climate and make the most of every outdoor space. Whether you live near the beach, in the Old Town or further inland, we're here to help you look after your home.
Services We Provide in Paignton
Everything Your Property Needs: Plastering, Decorating & Landscaping
In Paignton, we offer a full range of outdoor and indoor services, all carried out by our own experienced team. Our fencing services include featheredge fencing built to stand up to coastal winds, custom fencing and privacy screens, metal fencing and railings with corrosion-resistant finishes, and home security fencing. We design and lay natural stone and porcelain patios, perfect for enjoying Paignton's sunny summers. Our landscaping services include garden levelling, new turf, decorative stone and sleeper beds, ideal for creating flat, usable spaces in sloping gardens or low-maintenance designs for busy households. We also install resin bound, block paving, gravel and concrete driveways, adding off-road parking that's a big help on busy streets during the holiday season. Inside, we provide plastering and skimming, painting and decorating, damp proofing, internal wall insulation and room-in-roof insulation, helping older seaside homes and chalet bungalows stay warm, dry and smart. Outside, our external rendering and exterior painting services protect your walls from wind-driven rain and sea spray. Because we handle every trade ourselves, you can combine projects and deal with one trusted team from your first quote to final sign-off, without juggling multiple contractors.
