Our Story
Planning for Home Renovations in Dawlish
Founded by best mates Jay and Joshua, J&J Contractors brings more than 25 years of combined experience to homes in Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. Dawlish is one of South Devon's best-loved seaside towns, famous for the black swans on Dawlish Water, the peaceful Lawn running through the town centre, and the iconic stretch of railway that hugs the red sandstone cliffs along the sea wall. The town has a lovely mix of properties, from Georgian and Victorian homes near the Strand and the Lawn to bungalows, family homes and newer estates climbing the hillsides around the town. With its coastal position and hilly streets, Dawlish homes face plenty of challenges. Salt air and storms are tough on fencing, render and paintwork, sloping gardens can be hard to use, and older properties can suffer from damp and cold walls. That's why Dawlish homeowners need landscaping and interior specialists who understand how to build and finish homes to cope with the coastal weather. Levelling and terracing can transform steep gardens, while quality fencing and weatherproof render protect your property for years to come. Whether you live near the seafront, in the town centre or out towards Dawlish Warren, we're proud to serve the local community.
Services We Provide in Dawlish
Everything Your Property Needs: Plastering, Decorating & Landscaping
In Dawlish, we offer a full range of outdoor and indoor services, all carried out by our own experienced team. Our fencing services include featheredge fencing built to withstand coastal winds, custom fencing and privacy screens, metal fencing and railings with powder-coated finishes that resist salt air, and home security fencing. We design and lay natural stone and porcelain patios, with porcelain a popular low-maintenance choice for coastal gardens. Our landscaping services include garden levelling, new turf, decorative stone and sleeper beds, ideal for turning sloping Dawlish gardens into flat, usable spaces. We also install resin bound, block paving, gravel and concrete driveways, designed with proper drainage to cope with heavy rain and steep approaches. Inside, we provide plastering and skimming, painting and decorating, damp proofing, internal wall insulation and room-in-roof insulation, helping homes stay warm, dry and beautifully finished. Outside, our external rendering service protects walls from wind-driven rain and sea spray, while exterior painting keeps windows, doors and fascias looking smart. With one team managing every trade, you can combine projects, such as damp proofing, replastering and redecorating, with the same reliable faces from start to finish.
