Our Story
Planning for Home Renovations in Brixham
Founded by best mates Jay and Joshua, J&J Contractors brings more than 25 years of combined experience to homes in Brixham, one of the most characterful towns on the English Riviera. Brixham is a proud working fishing port, with its colourful harbour, busy fish market, the full-size replica of the Golden Hind and the dramatic headland at Berry Head, home to a National Nature Reserve and historic Napoleonic forts. The town's homes are as distinctive as its harbour, with brightly painted cottages and terraces climbing the steep hillsides, Victorian villas with sea views, and family homes and newer estates out towards Churston and Galmpton. Brixham's steep streets and exposed coastal position mean homes face strong winds, salt spray and heavy rain, which can be tough on fencing, render and paintwork, while many gardens are steep and hard to use. Older homes can also suffer from damp and cold solid walls. That's why Brixham homeowners need landscaping and interior specialists who understand hillside plots, coastal weather and older buildings. Levelling and terracing can transform sloping gardens, while weatherproof render and quality exterior painting keep homes protected. Whether you live near the harbour, up on the hill or out towards Berry Head, we're here to help.
Services We Provide in Brixham
Everything Your Property Needs: Plastering, Decorating & Landscaping
In Brixham, we offer a full range of outdoor and indoor services, all delivered by our own team. Our fencing services include featheredge fencing built to withstand coastal winds, custom fencing and windbreak screens, metal fencing and railings with corrosion-resistant finishes, and home security fencing. We design and lay natural stone and porcelain patios, with porcelain a popular choice for exposed gardens thanks to its resistance to salt, algae and staining. Our landscaping services include garden levelling, new turf, decorative stone and sleeper beds, ideal for turning steep Brixham gardens into flat, usable terraces with harbour or sea views. We also install resin bound, block paving, gravel and concrete driveways, with brushed concrete and well-drained surfaces that suit sloping approaches. Inside, we provide plastering and skimming, painting and decorating, damp proofing, internal wall insulation and room-in-roof insulation, helping Brixham's older cottages and terraces stay warm, dry and beautifully finished. Outside, our external rendering and exterior painting services protect walls from salt spray and wind-driven rain, keeping those colourful harbourside homes looking their best. With one team handling every trade, you can combine projects easily and deal with the same reliable faces throughout.
